If you’re reading this, you’re part of the crew. Welcome. This is our tried and true slime recipe - our #1 piece of advice: don’t rush the process, trust the process!
We’ve tried a number of different glue and activator brands over the years, please see the shopping list below and do not stray!
Ingredients:
-
Base: 1 cup Elmer's white glue
-
Additional: 1/2 tablespoon baking soda (more glue = more baking soda)
-
Activator: Approx. 1/2tsp Contact solution (add squirt by squirt as needed, more glue = more contact solution)
-
Decorative:
-
3-6 drops food coloring
-
Glitter (don’t add too much)
-
“Slime Charms” (optional - Dollarama, Michaels, Amazon or Shein will have these)
-
Equipment:
-
Mixing Bowl
-
Popsicle stick or small spatula (to stir)
-
Table top surface
Directions:
1. Put glue and baking soda to mixing bowl, stir for 1 minute (get rid of any powder/clumps)
2. Add in food colouring (3-6 drops max), mix thoroughly
3. Add glitter, mix thoroughly (make sure you like the amount of glitter/food colouring before putting in the activator - once the activator is in, it's really difficult to add more base ingredients)
4. Add 2-3 squirts of contact solution to the mixing bowl (mix for 1 minute between squirts)
5. Pour the glue solution onto your workspace and knead it out (like a pizza)
6. Slowly add 3-5 more squirts of contact solution
7. Once fully formed, squirt a little bit of activator into the bowl to pick up any remaining glue mix
8. Keep kneading the slime until it is not longer sticking to your hands (this takes time!)
