Age Requirements: Why They Matter for Some Party Entertainment

Researchers say that a child's attention span typically ranges from 3-5 minutes per year of age which means that a 4-year-old might focus for 12-20 minutes, while an 8-year-old can engage for up to 40 minutes. For our more hands-on workshops & programming, we highly recommend (and adhere to) age requirements.

Age requirements aren't about being exclusive - they're about creating the best possible experience for everyone involved.
Why Age Matters in Group Activities
Motor Skills: Activities like sticker-making and other detailed crafts require specific fine motor skills that develop with age
Attention Span: Younger children naturally have shorter attention spans, which can impact group momentum
Group Dynamics: Mixed age groups often need different levels of instruction, which can slow down the experience
Real Talk: When Exceptions Don't Work
We've seen it countless times - a well-meaning parent wants their 3-year-old to join their older sibling's Hip Hop Dance Party. But here's what often happens:
The younger child needs constant one-on-one attention
Other children's experience gets compromised
Parents end up spending money on an activity their child wasn't ready for
Smart Solutions for Including Younger Siblings/Children
Don't worry - we've got solutions that work...
Separate Entertainment: Consider booking a separate entertainer specifically for under-5s
Modified Activities: Ask about our simplified versions of popular activities (often with shortened service times or “care-giver and me” style)
Hybrid Approach: Set up a supervised play area for younger children alongside main activities
Making the Right Choice
Sometimes we can make exceptions or adjust packages, but we'll always be honest about whether it's a good idea. After all, your child's joy (and your investment) matter to us! These guidelines aren't about limiting fun - they're more about ensuring everyone has the best possible experience at your event :)
